"Blast From The Past" Tony's Comments:
Brendan Fraser star of "Encino Man" and "George Of The Jungle" is back in another fish-out-water comedy. This time round Fraser plays Adam Weber, the son of an inventor, who has built an underground bomb shelter for his family. After a bomb scare in the 60s the family lock themselves in their shelter for 35 years. Fraser is later sent out by his father, into modern-day Los Angeles to obtain food and supplies and hopefully a wife for himself. He meets & falls in love with Eve (Alicia Silverstone), who helps him with his objectives. Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are delightful as Fraser's ageing parents, Silverstone is charming as usual and Brendan Fraser once again displays his flair for comedy as the innocent, child-like man in a strange land. To add to the entertainment the film also features a pleasant, easy-listening soundtrack of songs from old favorites like Dean Martin, Perry Como, and Jan & Dean. "Blast From The Past" is a fun, romantic teen comedy with some old-fashioned charm. It can be enjoyed by young & old.
